An Opportunity when Losing Trust

card suite Another thought from The Thin Book of Trust, by Charles Feltman ©2009 provides me with an opportunity for looking at my trust of another person. Charles describes 4 distinctions of trust: Sincerity, Competence, Reliability, and Care. Sincerity means, “I mean what I say, say what I mean, and act accordingly.” Competence means, “I know I can do this. I don’t know if I can do that.” Reliability means, “You can count on me to deliver what I promise!” Care means, “We are in this together.” Deciding which of these distinctions (or more) have been broken… from my perspective… can support me in formulating the type of conversation I may desire to have. What an opportunity this provides for me!
