Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

irishThe “holiday” commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland.  It inspires celebrations that are showcased by public parades and festivals, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.  It often leads to a good excuse to down few beers, What began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and a whole lot of green.

Being of Irish heritage, I had to share my transition … cooking corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread and sometimes, “Irish Potatoes” (a creamy coconut candy rolled in cinnamon).   Yummy!  And I usually wear something green.  Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  Tell us how you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
