Changing Perspectives

Our habits determine what we see. When I pick up a pair of binoculars, I look ahead. That is how they are used – to magnify something far away in the distance. I might do a 360 turn around to catch the full view from a mountain top. That gives me many different angles to observe. But I don’t remember ever looking up like this little fellow. He adds a whole new dimension to what there is to see. Maybe he is catching a glimpse of a plane or a hawk that is flying overhead. He will catch it for an instant if he is lucky.

As I enter 2014, I’d like to add some new ways of expanding the ways I view my world so that I can experience more, reach beyond my usual way of doing and seeing  things. I’d like to bring more of the wonder and curiosity of this little guy into my reality.
